Instrument: Piano

John Walter, pianist, has been hailed for his dynamic interpretations and sensitive collaborations with orchestras, chamber ensembles, instrumentalists, and vocalists. Mr. Walter served as Artistic Director of the Richmond Chamber Players from 1998 - 2012 and has been a pianist for the group since 1994.

A graduate of Yale University, Mr. Walter received Master's degrees in Piano and Accompanying from the University of Michigan. He later earned a Masters in Math Education at Virginia Commonwealth University and taught for thirty years at Maggie L. Walker Governor's School, a regional public high school for gifted children.
