Instrument: Violin

Emily Monroe has served as a section violinist in the Richmond Symphony since 2022. She is also an active chamber musician and baroque violinist, having recently performed in concert series for the Central Music Society of Central Virginia, the Washington National Cathedral, and Three Notch'd Road: The Virginia Baroque Ensemble. In 2022 Emily received a Master of Music in Violin Performance and Chamber Music from the University of Michigan.

During her time in Ann Arbor she served as a section violinist in the Ann Arbor Symphony, Concertmaster of the University of Michigan's Symphony Orchestra, and as a member of UM's Baroque Chamber Orchestra. Previously, Emily graduated with a Bachelor of Music and a minor in Baroque Violin from Vanderbilt's Blair School of Music and attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts high school program.
